Bear Tracks Blog!March 2, 2010High Profile ClientsSpring CleaningNow is the time for you to get your indoors cleaned up after this long snowy winter we just had. Temperatures are starting to go back up, even after the rain/snow mix we had earlier today. Can’t wait for the 50’s that we will have by the end of the week. We can clean up all of your flooring…carpet, tile, wood & rugs. We can also take care of any of your upholstery & mattress cleaning needs. Remember that we are a true “green” cleaner & believe in improving your indoor environment…not coming in your home to clean quickly & turn the dirt into mud. We give you the most thorough cleaning that you have ever experienced before. We can accomplish dry to the touch before we leave in most homes. Cheapest is not Best!!!There are so many price ranges in our industry. Have you ever heard of “You get what you pay for”? Well that rings true in the carpet cleaning industry. Many cleaners are still charging what they did in the 70’s. Since our industry is not regulated so many jump into our industry & undercut everyone, run their equipment all day for nothing, don’t have insurance or can’t afford it, are uneducated, bait n switch (low price then when they get there price jumps), use inferior equipment & just simply don’t have the knowledge it takes to clean. The list goes on & on…so that’s where we come in. We have been in business for now 16 yrs. & as soon as we started began going to our Industry Related Certification Classes/Schools to regulate our company. We are all 3 Certified Master Cleaners which is the highest level trained…and attend our C.E.C. Courses to stay up to date on our training. We believe that if we stay on top of our education, give our clients the best in quality of service, have the latest equipment & treat our clients right then we can sleep at night knowing that we have done the best job we can! We can only do 1- 2 jobs a day to be able to produce the quality that we do where other companies can do more, even up to 12 – 14 jobs a day. We believe in quality NOT quantity! February 14, 2010Preparing Your Home to SellSpring Cleaning Time Spring is the time to de-clutter your home so if you are preparing your home to sell then there is no time like the present. Include the whole family in getting your home ready. Also, give everyone jobs in advance that they can do in a moment’s notice that can go into action if your Realtor calls to say they are showing your house on short-notice. De-Clutter First, you need to start by de-cluttering…de-cluttering…de-cluttering! Donate everything that hasn’t been used in at least a year. Getting prepared to sell will help so much when moving day comes because you will already have everything in order. The sentimental things that you want to keep need to be put in a storage unit & out of the house. Go through the house & clean from top to bottom. Inspect all painted surfaces inside & outside. You need to paint, do touch-ups & repair all painted walls & surfaces because buyers will notice the smallest thing. Fix & Repair Fix all of the little things that are broken that you have been putting off. Think about hiring a handyman service if you are not handy around the house. Clean & inspect all of your windows. Buyers look in cabinets, closets & drawers so make sure everything is in order. When you open your home up to potential buyers you are inviting them to look through everything so get prepared. Make sure the lawn is in tip top shape & the grass stays groomed weekly. The exterior of the house, concrete driveway & deck/fences need to be cleaned. Staining decks & fences give a fresh look to the exterior. You need to make that curb appeal attractive when they pull up to the home…this is the first thing they see. First Impressions The entry points into your home need to stand out in a positive & inviting way. You have to think outside the box & in a buyer’s eyes so you need to de-personalize your home. This way the perspective buyer can imagine their décor in your home. Your carpet needs to be freshly cleaned & odor free from pet, smoke & cooking. Just because you don’t smell your pet doesn’t mean they won’t. It may be a good idea to take your pet with you while showing your home or put them outside. You want your home to be spot & odor free. If everything is clean & freshly painted then their perspective is that you have been taking good care of your home & they don’t try to nit pick everything. Home Staging Home Staging Companies are becoming popular now. They can come into your home & tell you what you need to do to get your home ready to show. They can bring in furniture if it is needed, especially in an empty house, but the way they can arrange & utilize things that you have already just blows my mind. The simplest touches can change so much. When we get ready to sell we will definitely be using a Home Staging Company & know some really good ones in the area. Hire a Realtor Hire a Realtor because they will definitely make you more money than what you will spend in the long run. If you are using an Agent then leave & trust them to do the work for you. If you are at home make yourself invisible so that the buyer can feel free to look & ask questions. You only get one chance to make a first impression…same goes for your home!!! Benefits of Taking a Warm Dead Sea Salt Bath- Stimulate circulation through body as well as skin Easy Garlic Green BeansGARLIC GREEN BEANS 1LB. GREEN BEANS Steam beans for 5 to 7 min. on stovetop or in microwave>rinse w/ cold water This is one of my favorite veggie dishes and it’s soooo…. easy! Dark Chocolate & Your HealthEating more dark chocolate can help lower blood pressure — if you’ve reached a certain age and have mild high blood pressure, say the researchers. But that’s no license to go on a chocolate binge. You have to balance the extra calories by eating less of other things. Dark chocolate is a potent antioxidant. Antioxidants gobble up free radicals, destructive molecules that are implicated in heart disease and other ailments. High in potassium and magnesium, chocolate also provides us with several vitamins – including B1, B2, D, and E. As for calories, no one is going to claim chocolate is the quintessential diet food. Still, the average chocolate bar contains approximately 250 calories – low enough for a dieter to enjoy one as an occasional treat. Besides, indulging your chocolate craving from time to time can help prevent the binging that is a dieter’s worst enemy. If you receive chocolates for Valentine’s Day insist on Dark Chocolate. Mmmmm…..Chocolate!!! Happy Valentine’s Day!!!We would like to wish everyone a Happy Valentine’s Day…from the Bear Crew at Big Bear Floor Care!
