Billy & Audra Hicks started Hicks Carpet Care in January of 1994. Their first client was a large construction company where they performed Final Phase Construction Clean-ups & Janitorial services. The couple quickly added carpet & upholstery cleaning to their services to be able to meet the needs of the 12 commercial accounts they acquired that year. These services would meet the needs of residential clients as well. Once their son, Christopher, was born in November 1994, they gave up working nights/weekends because that interfered with “family time.” They decided to put their efforts into high-end residential textile cleaning.

In January 1995, a new distributor called Bridgepoint came to town, which offered an opportunity to purchase premium products, in addition to sponsoring necessary I.I.C.R.C. Certification classes. The Hicks immediately started earning certifications. They went on to become Master Textile Technicians, the highest level of training in the industry. They established themselves as a Certified Firm and became well known in the U.S. & other countries for offering their industry expertise by consulting and mentoring other cleaners. They are called to do specialty work for clients because they have the knowledge to handle special situations or nearly impossible cleaning tasks.

Their son, Christopher, has always loved what his parents do for a living so he set himself the goal of becoming the Youngest Certified Cleaner in the U.S. by the age of 10. He eagerly attended all the Continuing Education Courses his parents took to help them keep up to date with technology advancements. In 2005, when just 10 years old, Christopher became the youngest I.I.C.R.C. Certified Cleaning Technician in the U.S. In the same year he earned a Black Belt in Wado Ryu Karate. At the age of 14, after attending all the required courses/tests, Christopher became the Youngest Master Textile Technician in the U.S.

The Hicks have built their referral-based, high-end business from ground up. In May of 2007, they purchased the World's Largest, Most Advanced & Most Powerful Cleaning Machine...“The Big Bear Truck.” They have a great passion for what they do and make every effort to ensure that they have the expertise to handle all their clients' cleaning needs. In October 2009, the Hicks renamed their carpet care company Big Bear Floor Care!
